Wishing you a prosperous and happy New Year
As 2019 draws near, I reflect on the year that has been. As a parish we have been busy with events. From the Opening Deanery Mass of the Year of Youth, Fr Bangs farewell, our Mission Week with Fr Ray Sanchez, parishioners graduation from the IFE course, Proclaim, Golden Oldies dinner, SMK Feast with Fr Adrian, our big fundraiser the Siva, the Christmas Carols, to the Christmas Masses, who can forget that adorable children's nativity play.
Throughout the preparations for these events, I feel and see the love of Christ through our parishioners working side-by-side, patiently as one. The same camaraderie can be felt during church working bees. It is evident in those that do every day maintenance tasks within our parish, cleaning, tidying, moving furniture, arranging flowers, and fixing odd things around the church as well as our ministers. There are so many that work tirelessly behind the scenes to ensure our place of worship, our father’s house, runs smoothly and is ready for service everyday/week. I am grateful to all those who assist in any way, great or small and I pray that God will bless you and yours as we move into 2019.
I am encouraged by the number of people who have stepped up this year to assist in making ‘our’ church the heart of ‘our’ community. A welcoming place, which bears testament to the love of Jesus Christ. My wish for the New Year is that each parishioner will feel empowered to make this parish/church ‘their’ own. That they will feel His love as they walk through the door and that it will continue as a place of worship as well as a central place of fellowship for all.
May this New Year wish, fill your heart with hopes of a brighter tomorrow and unfold new dreams to realize.
Wish you all a Happy and Prosperous 2019 New Year.
- Fr. Sunil
Welcome to our communityOur parish community is a place of hospitality, pastoral care, prayer and education. We welcome all newcomers and hope you will soon feel at home and share with us your gifts and talents. We promote active involvement in parish ministries and the wider community. Through our ministries we create personal connections between the Parish and its members. We aim to help our community connect their faith with their daily lives and to see our Parish as a community of people, not just a place to attend Mass.
If you would like to find out more about activities within the Parish, the Involvement section of this website provides a short description of the mission and activities available.
